fresh experience with Canon G7X ii , I had an opportunity to tear down this famous point and shoot aka vlogging camera on market right now . canon has recently announced next generation the G7X iii which is capable of 4K and it has mic input, usb typeC and new processor.

this blog post will cover taking apart canon g7xii with visual pictures graced from my tutorial.
lets start tearing down this amazing camera…flip it up side down and you can see 4 screws next to the tripod mount .
that cover will pops out and it shows inside of the camera ….im not sure what is purpose of this cover but lets move on ….
behing 3″touch tilting screen are some more screws , tilt display out of the way and unscrew them .
on right side we have 3 screws two of them are exposed and one is under the USB and HDMI plastic flap . they are different to each other .
on the left side 2 screws exposed so go hard and unscrew them.
at this stage you can pull off the rear panel, wiggle and pull it will separate from camera body, be careful as there is ribbon cable connecting screen and buttons to the main board.

now to be able access this screw holding top panel (see arrow) we need to unscrew thumb dials holding on place by two screws and one connector.
screws are out and here is connector again classic lift lock .
screw is out and one more is inside the battery compartment
note: screw under the mode dial has this metal washer
top part of the camera can be removed but don forget to disconnect ribbon cable from connector.
once you remove top panelist expose another 3 screws holding front cover of the camera,
pull out front cover over the lens unit , the ribbon cable is long enough to allow this move.
so disconnect cable and you successfully striped the canon g7xii !
