You know the feeling when you press nissan car remote and door is stuck close or open … Common issue on Nissan door lock actuators is that they stay in one position no matter what .
I had the same issue with my Nissan rear door actuator (mechanism) so I searched for new. unit and then I realised that the part is thee whole unit with door lock, locking motor and all the bells and whistles …. and it is expensive ! So I decided to repair it my self …
I removed the door panel and disconnected few things ( you can see all process in my video ) and removed door mechanism / actuator out from the door . This part is housing locking motor which is the cause to this “stuck door” issue ! when I opened the plastic unit I immediately seen the motor and it is classic brushed motor ( just like one in chip toys ) .
this motor can be split / you can remove back plastic part – be careful and do not damage brushes inside ! Once open inside of the plastic back motor cover is small steel looking rectangle located on inner side of the cover ( it is some kind of resistor or so ) this is the issue this component probably wears out and causes improper circuit . So I went ahead and removed it , measured and replaced with steel spring washer ( washer did fit perfectly ) this washer will close the circuit and motor will work again !
I can confirm that door / motor is still working after more than year since repair so there is no problem with ditching that resistor component and replacing it with any steel part.
