GoPro’s common issue  – crack front LCD 

its happen all the time …. crack is size of hair in beginning but later on it start been annoying and actually blocking the LCD and then is time to replace it … unlike hero 4 silver or hero 5, hero 6  the hero 3 has no screen on back so you need front lcd  to setup your camera.

replacement part is easy to get and it cost around $30 .

replacing is easy and pretty fast … here is video tutorial how to do it!

steps:

pop front frame (the lcd is glued on the frame)

unscrew 4 screws on corners

gently remove motherboard (don’t damage flexi cables )

on the side is connector for front lcd and front button in one

disconnect it and remove front flexi pad with button and LEDs, lcd

(its glued on)

 

insert new part- pull flax cable true tiny gap on side and connect it .

make sure display is on right place and flexi cable from display is going under lens housing (just corner of it )

plug flexi cables for battery and buttons to the motherboard and place motherboard back in to housing .

4x screws – front frame

ALL DONE
